am reminded once again that knowing and understanding how learners learn is so key to engaging students in their learning process. once that is in place, everything else, including me facilitates their learning experience.
so whatever i do in class (f2f) or online then takes in consideration of how to ease students into the environment, get them comfortable w/ the people who becomes their community, build confidence in what they do, discover the joy of learning and collaborating w/ their peers and inevitably, learning takes place and learning can be a fun thing. :)

yes, me too. I'm reminded that I tend to teach how I like to learn myself and it takes a very concerted effort to consider diverse preferences
Hi Sinsing,
Students sometimes appear resistant to more interactive stuff because it looks like more work to them. But often when they start, they get hooked if it is engaging. But I have never yet worked out what makes some activities engaging for some groups, and a waste of time for others. I guess that takes more experience in reading group dynamics and adapting the content accordingly. Cheers, Andrew
